Menucha Retreat This Weekend!
Monday, May 31st, 2010Shabbat, Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel wrote, is a “sanctuary in time.”Once every two years we of Shir Tikvah have created for ourselves the chance to work on our sanctuary in time with a quiet, small, and lovely Shabbat experience at Menucha, a retreat center in Corbett, overlooking the Gorge. On the evening of May 18 join us in crossing the river for erev Shavuot tefilah, learning, and prayer:
- 8pm Tefilah with Ilene Safyan and Rabbi Greenstein
- 9pm 1st Breakout Session: Professor Sylvia Frankel-Taste of Melton; Ayal Yariv-Cafe V’Ivrit; Rabbi Ariel Stone-document unearthed: a vision of God in Tzfat
- 10pm 2nd Breakout Session: Josh Lake Eco-Judaism; PSU Professor Natan Meir–Jewish poetry; Rabbi Daniel Isaak (TBA)
- 11pm LATE NIGHT SESSION with Rabbi Bradley Greenstein
