A Must-Read Article about the Relationship between American Jews and Israel

Monday, May 31st, 2010

http://www.nybooks.com/articles/archives/2010/jun/10/failure-american-jewish-establishment/

We will talk about this article and its context at our erev Shabbat tefilah on June 11, 6.30pm. If you care about Israel and the future of Israel’s relationship with American Jews, come and share your thoughts and concerns. Perhaps we’ll even work out some positive way of becoming more engaged as a congregation, and as individual Jews who know that Jewish ethics require us to get involved: it is not up to you to complete the work, but neither are you free to annul the ethical requirement to do what you can. (Pirke Avot)

If you are signed up for the retreat, and haven’t received your confirmation email, please contact the office.
